Wine Spectator
Spicy, with super fruit and an opulent nose. Full-bodied, with velvety tannins and a long, juicy finish. Love the cashmerelike texture. Barrel tasting. —James Suckling, 90 points

Wine Advocate
Take that quality and add additional layers of concentration, power, extract and wood, and you have the 2009 La Plus de La Fleur de Bouard. Only about 500 cases of this 100% Merlot are made. With notes of blueberry and blackberry liqueur intermixed with graphite and spring flowers, this wine is absolutely massive and not for everybody, but it is an example of what a conscientious and driven producer pushing the envelope can do in a satellite appellation such as Lalande de Pomerol. Moreover, I suspect it will last for at least two decades. 96 points

La Fleur de Boüard Tasting Notes
Grapes selected from a superb vineyard with heat-retaining stony soil. Harvested by the ch'teau's own team from selected plots of old vines with small yields. Bunches are hand-stemmed. Whole berries are vinified in our "OVNI" vat (real state-of-art technology). This small, oddly-shaped experimental vat has a large surface area which maximizes skin contact. This reduces all vigorous actions, such as pumping over or punching down the cap, to a minimum, which allows the extraction of the finest tannins. Kept in french oak barrels, 100% new oak, 33 months barrel ageing, No fining, No filtration.
