Wine Advocate
The flagship offering from a 4-acre parcel, the 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa is a 650-cases, 100% Cabernet Sauvignon offering an excellent opaque ruby/purple color as well as abundant aromas of camphor, creme de cassis, subtle smoke and graphite characteristics. Full-bodied, rich, dense and concentrated with some tannins still to shed, it should drink nicely for 15 or more years. 92 points

Hourglass Tasting Notes
The stylistic goal of Hourglass is to achieve a seamless balance of fruit concentration with the elegance of more subtle nuances driven by its terrior. Drawing from its Napa Valley origin, Hourglass has a forward depth of fruit, yet is not a "fruit bomb." Saturated mid-palate texture is again balanced by lively acidity, which rolls into a refined finish. Moderately high alcohol is balanced against integrated sweet oak, and depth of fruit. Aromatics play as important a role as texture, or flavor. Nuances of black licorice, mint, eucalyptus, earth, coffee/toffee, crème-de-cassis, and pomegranate, blend back and forth between aroma, and taste.
