What's so exciting about this wine anyway?  Beaujolais Nouveau is available just weeks after it is harvested.  The Beaujolais region produces mostly red wines from the Gamay grape, which is known for its fruitiness, soft tannins and food-friendly acidity.  While it may not be considered a serious wine, it's meant to be fun and appeal to a variety of wine drinkers. And it's the perfect red wine to drink with turkey.
