“Bloody hell, for the life of me I can’t figure out why I waited so long,” exclaimed our winemaker Brian as he leaned back in his chair with his hands over his face. Yes it has been a full decade between our first vintage sparkling Riesling release and our second, the 2008 Riesling Cuve Close. This focussed, pure, elegant bubbly is so delicious and engaging that you will ask the question, “why have you made us wait so long?” Within the crisp nature of the palate of this wine there is a wonderful textural foil of pure cream. This sparkling is both lively and silky in the same moment. In fairness, it must be that Riesling has played a pivotal role in all of our Vintage Brut blends over the years but it is now time to revel in pure Riesling and celebrate it once again!
