Le Petit Mouton de Mouton-Rothschild Tasting Notes
Le Petit Mouton de Mouton Rothschild, the second wine of Chateau Mouton Rothschild, has been produced since 1993. It is generally made from a selection of the youngest vines of the illustrious First Growth and harvested, vinified and bottled with the same painstaking care. Everything is done to ensure that the wine expresses the elegance and depth of a great Pauillac. The number of bottles produced, no more than a few thousand cases, and the proportions of the different grape varieties vary according to the characteristics of each vintage.

Wine Spectator
Offers a solid, muscular beam of raspberry and red currant, with sweet spice and tobacco in the background. The round finish of roasted vanilla is nicely integrated already, and this nicely rounded overall. Tasted non-blind. BT 91 points

Wine Advocate
A blend of 68% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest primarily Merlot, this may be finest second wine Mouton Rothschild has yet produced. The selection process is unquestionably severe, and the 2010 Le Petit Mouton is even higher in alcohol than the grand vin. Abundant cassis, supple tannins and more near-term pleasure can be found in this full-bodied, rich, impressively endowed effort. Enjoy it over the next 10-15 years. 90 points
