Cade Tasting Notes
This is our inaugural release from our Estate Vineyard. Planted in 2003 we are the only winery to produce wine from this exciting and dramatic hillside estate. When first opened it reveals a strikingly provocative aromatic display of graphite, violet and cedar. With aeration aromas of black Currant, dark chocolate and black cherry fill the glass. A classic mountain Cabernet Sauvignon, it is full bodied and benefits from aging with flavors of chocolate truffle, black cherry, cocoa powder and currant. It displays immense concentration and texture suggesting it will benefit with 2-3 years of bottle age or a good decant. It will evolve nicely for the next 15+ years.

Wine Advocate
Absolutely sensational, the 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Howell Mountain is a blend of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon and 14% Merlot. It reveals a strikingly provocative aromatic display of blue and black fruits, crushed rocks, violets, and a hint of chocolate. This full-bodied, dense, classic mountain Cabernet Sauvignon is built for long-term aging. Its opaque purple color, awesome concentration and texture, and foreboding personality suggest 5-6 years of bottle age is warranted. It should drink well over the following 30+ years. 95 points

International Wine Cellar
Dark, opaque ruby. Subdued but pure nose hints at cassis, espresso, bitter chocolate and nutty oak, nicely lifted by a floral topnote. Sweet and seamless in the mouth; less obviously fruity than the 2008 model but smooth and long, with the violet character carrying through to the lingering, ripely tannic finish. 92 points
