Giovanni Manzone Tasting Notes
The nose is intense and harmonic, fruity, cherry and raspberry. Spicy and balsamic ending. Lively ruby red color with a thick texture. Taste is warm, full, supple, with excellent tannic balance, sapid.

Wine Spectator
Offers aromas of ripe strawberry and rose petal. Full-bodied, yet balanced and reserved, with velvety tannins and a long, fruity finish. This is really intense on the finish. Very fruit-driven and attractive. Best after 2012. —James Suckling, 92 points

Wine Advocate
Manzone's 2005 Barolo Le Gramolere is a translucent, ethereal Barolo that reveals lovely inner sweetness in its fruit. Menthol, spices and flowers add complexity all the way through to the long, refined finish. This accessible, fresh Barolo is delicious today and should continue to improve over the coming years. While not the most complex Barolo out there, this wine more than makes up for that small shortcoming with superb balance and fine overall harmony. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2022. —Antonio Galloni, 90 points
