Casanova di Neri Tasting Notes
Our Brunello di Montalcino is aged in Slavonian oak barrels for about 30 months and in the bottle for a year. It was born in our historic vineyards (in 1873, Sangiovese grapes were already being grown on 12 hectares of ?Vigna Nuova di Fiesole?). Its constant high quality is further enhanced by its elegance and finesse.

Wine Advocate
The 2005 Brunello di Montalcino is soft and pleasing in its generous dark fruit and expressive bouquet. Plums, flowers and spices frame the long finish. In 2005 the straight Brunello is particularly successful, no doubt in part because it contains the fruit from Cerretalto, which was not made that year. Interestingly, this is a wine that doesn't usually attract much attention. Value-conscious buyers should be on the lookout for deals on this gorgeous 2005 Brunello. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2020. —Antonio Galloni, 91 points

Wine Enthusiast
Giacomo Neri has seen his share of the media spotlight lately, but this honest base Brunello shows loads of fruit characteristics followed by power and persistency. You?ll recognize cherry, blackberry and spice and the overall delivery emphasizes pleasure and drinkability. You could serve it now or wait three or four more years. —Monica Larner, 91 points
