Regularly cited by critics and connoisseurs as the benchmark Long Island wine and the powerhouse of all the North Fork’s reds, our 2005 Reserve Merlot has huge tannins with blackberry, roasted coffee, and graphite pencil shaving characteristics. There is a vanilla bean base-tone foundation in this wine that resulted from several layers and types of French white oak treatment, including barrels from notable boutique cooperage houses such as Taransaud, Cadus, and Saury.
